Blizzard released the Wrath of the Lich King cinematic trailer! Very different from the two previous ones… but I think it’s very fitting, with Arthas’ father King Terenas speaking to his son in the voiceover. Oh, how the mighty have fallen… :(

World of Warcraft: Olympic Games Event - Tabard & Pet !Every two years the Spirits of Competition grow especially fervent… and now is that time! Both Alliance and Horde wear this tabard into the Battlegrounds to honor the spirits, seeking to defeat all enemies and earn their favor. To get the new tabard, you only have to play one battleground. Winning or losing doesn’t matter, if you stay for the duration of the battle you will be mailed a Competitor’s Tabard. To get the new pet, you must defeat your rivals in any of the Battlegrounds. With every victory, there is a chance that a Gold Medallion will be mailed to you. As far as it looks, the tabards are permanent and it might be your only chance to get one … before the next Olympic Games in 2 years. This event goes live August 8th at midnight server time and lasts until the 25th. 1. Logged on to my Blood Elf Paladin 2. Entered Warsong Gulch 3. We capped 3 flags and won 4. ??? 5. Profit! I got both the tabard and the Chinese dragon pet! Cute (& geeky) way to celebrate the 2008 Olympic Games. :)

Super Mario Marathon Raises over $11,100 for Child's Play
This weekend, from 3pm on Friday until 12:30am on Monday, three guys played 7 Mario games to completion broadcasting the entire event live on the Internet to a sustained audience of over 2000, and raised over $11,100 for the Child’s Play Charity from over 600 contributors. It’s great to see a positive story about the video games and the community.

New Blizzard Game To Be Announced Soon?

Looks like Hell has finally frozen over. Oh how I wonder what it could be… =] Guess we’ll have to wait until this weekend!

Hopefully Blizzard will be able to talk more about some lich king stuff as well. I know a lot of people are eager to look at what their respective class changes will bring them.

Waiting is always the hardest part. Hang in there.

This is from someone in the know, a friend of Blizzard… clearly indicating the image is NOT about WotLK and instead hinting at a new Diablo game…

Apparently, an announcement is coming this weekend, and the ice on the page will slowly melt away over the week to reveal what’s underneath. People are of course speculating about the announcement: does it have to do with WotLK (the rune on the left looks like one that appears on Frostmourne)? Or perhaps a different game, like Diablo 3? We’ll find out soon…
